Généthon est une organisation associative de biothérapie créée et soutenue par l'Association Française contre les Myopathies association de malades et parents de malades organisatrice du Téléthon français.
Sa mission est la conception, ainsi que le développement préclinique et clinique de médicaments de thérapie génique pour les maladies rares, principalement neuromusculaires. C'est un centre de R&D intégré permettant de passer de la recherche au développement clinique en intégrant l'innovation technologique nécessaire et indispensable à ces nouvelles thérapies.

Genethon is a non-profit biotherapy R&D organization created and funded by the Association Française contre les Myopathies , a French association that supports patients and their families, and which organizes the country's annual Telethon.
Its mission is to design gene therapy products for rare diseases, mainly neuromuscular, and to ensure their pre-clinical and clinical development in order to provide patients with access to these innovative treatments. It is an integrated R&D center ensuring translational development from research up to clinical validation, including technical innovation necessary and indispensable to these new therapies.

Description de la mission

GENETHON, a laboratory created by AFM-Telethon, is a leader in the research and development of gene therapy drugs, particularly for rare diseases.

 


GENETHON is recruiting: A laboratory engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract (M/F)

 


Within the Translational Research Department and under the authority of the Head of the Immunology and Liver Diseases Department, you will carry out analyses and technical manipulations independently.

 


Main tasks:

Under the supervision of a researcher, you will participate in the development and characterization of new AAV viral vectors. As such, you will:

- Carry out technical experiments according to established protocols;

- Develop new protocols for improved technical workflows;

- Control the quality of products and preparations, tests and results of scientific analyses;

- Propose technical improvements for scientific experiments;

- Analyse/interpret and format the raw results obtained;

- Participate in inventory management and maintenance of equipment and work areas used;

Profil

With a Bac+5 (Master) degree in molecular biology / cell biology / biochemistry, you master the basic techniques of molecular biology, cell culture, biochemistry, and laboratory work under PSM and L2 classified areas. Knowledge in the field of gene therapy would be an asset.

You are versatile, rigorous, autonomous, and organized, with a curious mind and a good ability to learn and work in a collaborative environment.

A good command of English is essential, French is a bonus.

Ideally 1 to 2 years of experience, but position open to recent graduates.
